I always say "you never know where life will take you". But I think growing up in Jakarta, Indonesia helped form my passion for visual communication. When you either don't speak a language, or can't read (which the current illiteracy rate is 15–20% of the world's population, according to UNESCO), you either rely on visual graphics or charades. Visual graphics can provide a larger impact, and if put together intelligently, it can be incredibly effective.

This notion inspired me to attain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 2003, and explore various visual communication design challenges in Egypt and Indonesia.

As Gandhi so eloquently pronounced, "Be the change you wish to see in this world."
